How does the Oompf Score work?

Last updated: June 16, 2026

Short Answer

Your Oompf Score is a composite score (0-1000) based on six key speaking dimensions: Structure, Conciseness, Confidence, Energy, Fillers, and Pace. Each dimension is scored independently, and together they form your overall score.

Your Oompf Score gives you a clear picture of your speaking at a glance. It is calculated from six key dimensions that matter most for everyday communication.

The Six Speaking Dimensions:

  • Structure (Blue): How well your answer has beginning, middle, and end. Do you organize your thoughts clearly?
  • Conciseness (Orange): Are you getting to the point? Do you ramble or stay on topic?
  • Confidence (Green): Your presence and authority. Do you sound sure of yourself?
  • Energy (Purple): Your vocal energy and engagement. Do you sound alive and interested?
  • Fillers (Coral): Your use of words like "um," "like," and "you know."
  • Pace (Yellow): Your speaking speed and rhythm. Are you too fast or too slow?

How to Use Your Score:

Look at your lowest-scoring dimension - that is your best opportunity for improvement. Focus on one dimension at a time to see the fastest progress.

The overall score is out of 1000, but the real insights come from seeing which dimensions are driving your score up and which are holding you back.
