Oompf is operated by Tomoni Labs, LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). We build technology that helps people become more confident and effective communicators through AI-powered speech practice and feedback.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to provide, maintain, and improve Oompf. The types of data we collect may include:

A. Speech and Practice Materials

When you practice using Oompf, we collect audio and video recordings of your sessions. These recordings may be transcribed and analyzed by AI systems to generate feedback such as pacing, clarity, scores, and vocabulary-related insights.

B. Account and Subscription Details

We collect information such as your name, email address, and subscription or payment-related data to create and manage your account and provide access to paid features.

C. Practice History and Progress

We store information about your practice attempts, improvement over time, and performance metrics so you can track progress and continue where you left off.

D. App Usage Information

We collect data about how the app is used, including session frequency, feature interactions, and navigation patterns.

E. Technical and Diagnostic Information

We may collect device-related information, operating system details, performance data, and crash or error logs to ensure stability and improve reliability.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected information only to operate and improve Oompf, including to:

  • Analyze speech and generate AI-powered feedback
  • Personalize practice experiences and track improvement
  • Provide vocabulary insights and speaking metrics
  • Respond to support requests and user inquiries
  • Process subscriptions, payments, and account changes
  • Improve product performance, usability, and features
  • Communicate with you about updates, new features, learning resources, and optional promotional messages

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time. Critical service-related messages (such as billing notices or security alerts) will still be sent.

We do not sell personal information or voice data.

4. AI Processing and Voice Data

AI Services

Your speech recordings are processed using AI technologies, including OpenAI and other speech processing providers, to deliver feedback and insights. These providers operate under contractual obligations to protect your data.

Data Security and Access

All voice data and analysis results are encrypted both in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to operate, support, or improve the service.

Responsible Voice Analysis

Voice recordings are analyzed solely for speech characteristics and performance feedback. They are not used for identity verification. We recommend avoiding sensitive or confidential content during practice sessions.

Internal Review

Authorized team members may review recordings and performance data for quality assurance, troubleshooting, customer support, and internal product improvement.

5. When We Share Information

We only share data when necessary to run Oompf, including with:

  • AI and Speech Technology Providers for analysis and feedback generation
  • Payment and Subscription Platforms (such as Apple, Google, and RevenueCat) for secure billing
  • Customer Support Services to help resolve user issues
  • Analytics and Marketing Partners to understand product usage and campaign performance
  • Legal or Regulatory Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights

We do not allow third parties to use your data for their own independent purposes.

6. Analytics and Marketing Tools

We use analytics and advertising tools to better understand how people discover and use Oompf and to improve our outreach.

Advertising Measurement

We may use advertising platforms such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, and similar services to measure campaign effectiveness. These platforms may collect device identifiers or advertising IDs.

On iOS, tracking requires your consent through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can manage this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Product Analytics

We use analytics tools such as Google Analytics and PostHog to understand feature usage and improve app performance.

Your Controls

  • Mobile Devices: Manage tracking permissions in your device settings
  • Ad Platforms: Opt out of personalized ads through platform account settings

Opting out may limit targeted advertising but does not eliminate all functional data collection.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You may request to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct or update your information
  • Download your practice history and progress data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Request data portability where applicable

Deleting Your Data

When you request deletion, your data is removed from active systems. Audio and video recordings are deleted promptly. Backup copies used for disaster recovery may remain for up to 30 days before permanent removal.

Email Preferences

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those messages or by contacting ted@tomoni.ai. Essential account and service emails cannot be disabled.

8. Security Practices

We use industry-standard safeguards such as encryption, access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your data. While no system is completely secure, we continuously work to reduce risk. Please use strong passwords and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

9. Data Retention

We retain practice data and recordings while your account is active and for up to 12 months after cancellation to allow for account recovery. Practice sessions shorter than 10 seconds may be automatically discarded. You may request deletion at any time.

10. International Users

Oompf is operated from the United States. By using the service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use of Oompf after updates indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
